a scientific experiment

Katie conducted a scientific experiment today. She wondered what would happen if she smacked the fan. Katie developed a hypothesis in her mind: the fan will fall down if I smack it. The only material she needed was a fan, which we conveniently had turned on in the living room. All Katie then had to do was carry out her instructions. So, she casually walked over to the fan, smacked it, and knocked it over. When the fan hit the ground, the screen covering the blades became disconnected and the fan spun around on the ground as the blades continued to revolve. I ran over and unplugged the fan. The spinning around and seeing me run over to the outlet were added bonuses for Katie.
Later, we went out to replace the broken piece. We didn't find a replacement piece. So, we fixed the fan with some string and duck tape. It used to look brand new. Now, it looks unique.
