over the years / film festival
The Toronto Film Festival closed last Saturday evening. Over the past 8 years I've caught 17 films at the festival with various friends and family. It's a small enough number to remember each theatre experience distinctly. While the vast majority of these films has been above average, I'd say that only 1 has been a dud. A number of these films have moved me. Here is a list of the films I've seen at the festival:
- Moonlight Whispers (Akihiko Shiota, Japan 99)
- Nico and Dani (Cesc Gay, Spain 00)
- Fighter (Amir Bar-Lev, USA 00)
- Chunhyang (Im Kwon Taek, Korea 00)
- Bisho de sete cabecas (Lais Bodansky, Brazil 01)
- Violet Perfume (Maryse Sistach, Mexico 01)
- The Quickie (Sergei Bodrov, Germany 01)
- Inch'Allah dimanche (Yamina Benguigui, France 01)
