The Porcelin Doll - a short film review

Yesterday was the last day of the film festival. I went to a shindig at a friend's place after work and then caught a film with my sister (she got free tickets from a friend). We saw The Porcelin Doll at the Cumberland. Directed by Hungarian Peter Gardos, the film follows a chain of events, like short stories, that occur in an isolated Hungarian village. Each event involves an element of the supernatural that lurks below the surface and is key to the story's outcome. The segments are unpredictable, and at 75 minutes the film flew by. Fortunately the Cumberland is one Film Fest theatre that does have food. I had coffee and we both had popcorn. While the popcorn was comforting, we were both suitably frightened by the creepy music score.
